We hope you will take a little time to get to know us better. Find out more information about our organization, what it does, how it does it, and how you can participate. Check out our Mission Statement to find out what we do.
Founded in 1991, NAHT is the first national membership organization of resident groups advocating for 2.1 million lower income families in privately-owned, HUD-assisted multifamily housing. Through NAHT, tenants have proven that united action can mount an effective campaign to save people’s homes.
NAHT’s Board of Directors consists of all Tenants from all regions of the country. These tenants come together both in person and via conference call to make decisions about organizational policy, planning, overall agency direction and fiscal oversight.
NAHT works with organizers across the country to unite tenants in project-based Section 8 housing. We are a diverse network of over 300 building-level tenant unions, area and state-wide coalitions, tenant organizing projects, legal service agencies, and other housing-related tenant organizations.
