Congress Proposes Bill to Abolish Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing

On January 11, 2017, Senators Lee (UT) and Rubio (FL) proposed the Local Zoning Decisions Protection Act of 2017 to Congress.  The bill, would effectively prohibit the federal government from enforcing the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule, or using federal funds to design, build, maintain, utilize, or provide access to a Federal database of geospatial information on community racial disparities or disparities in access to affordable housing.  This is a huge blow to the HUD universe.  To read the full proposed bill, click the link below.
